Here is a tentative timeline for implementation of the Brightspace LMS:<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"collapseomatic arrow\" id=\"id69facab020fd8\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Fall 2023\"    >Fall 2023<\/h2><div id=\"target-id69facab020fd8\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All courses are taught in Blackboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The SPS LMS Transition Committees are meeting regularly \u2013 see <a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.sps.cuny.edu\/cuny-sps-lms-transition\/organization\/\">Organization<\/a> page details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The setup of the CUNY-wide Brightspace environment is complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The SPS Brightspace node is being customized with our local preferences and digital tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summer 2023 course sites are migrated to Brightspace by Dec. 15, 2023<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faculty may:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access Brightspace: <a href=\"https:\/\/brightspace.cuny.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brightspace.cuny.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the Brightspace Resource Course for Instructors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create practice sites to learn and explore in Brightspace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive support from D2L via chat, email, and phone on a 24\/7, 365 day\/year basis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CUNY Central team offers Brightspace demos and Q&amp;A sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"collapseomatic arrow\" id=\"id69facab021048\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Winter 2023\"    >Winter 2023<\/h2><div id=\"target-id69facab021048\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All courses are taught in Blackboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SPS <a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.sps.cuny.edu\/cuny-sps-lms-transition\/2024\/01\/10\/brightspace-essentials-self-paced-bite-sized-learning-experiences-for-sps-faculty-and-staff\/\" title=\"Brightspace Essentials: Self-Paced &amp; Bite-Sized Learning Experiences for SPS Faculty and Staff\">Brightspace Essentials<\/a> Mini-Course is available for Faculty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Migration of development sites for 3, 7, and 10 week courses begins Jan. 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CUNY begins offering Brightspace Basics, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cuny.edu\/academics\/brightspace-transition\/spring-2024-workshops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4-workshop series<\/a>, in January<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Spring 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All courses are taught in Blackboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.sps.cuny.edu\/cuny-sps-lms-transition\/brightspace-training\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"465\">Training and demonstration<\/a> sessions are currently available for faculty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Migration of 3-week, 4-week, 7-week, and 10-week Dev sites are complete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students access to Brightspace is targeted for April 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Migration of the 15-week Dev sites targeted for migration by April 15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brightspace day is April 15!
