<\/figure>\n\n\n\nStep One: Portfolio Creation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
1. On the first Portfolio creation page, you will see a space to enter your Portfolio Name<\/strong>. It will already have a name filled in, based on your first and last name, but you can change that if you wish. We recommend that you follow this format: FirstName LastName\u2019s Portfolio (for example, Jane Smith\u2019s Portfolio).<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Choose a portfolio home URL. Like your name, this text box will already be filled in, based on your name. However, you can enter a different URL if you wish. Once created, the URL cannot be changed, so consider it carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Upload an avatar, by uploading an image of your choice. Once you upload your image, you can crop it, if you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Next, enter a description<\/strong> of your Portfolio. This is a required field. You can always change this later, so if you don\u2019t have a description prepared, just type something as a placeholder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Choose your Portfolio Privacy Settings<\/strong>. These settings control the privacy of the Portfolio Home, and are different from the Site, which you will choose next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a public Portfolio:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a private Portfolio:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a hidden Portfolio:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 6. When you are finished, click\u00a0Create and Continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Next, choose the privacy settings for your Portfolio Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. The portfolio being created is associated with a WordPress site, which displays the content of the portfolio. Here, you can create a new associated site for your portfolio, or use an external site, that is not part of the University of New Haven OpenLab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Choose the privacy settings for the portfolio site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Public<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Allow search engines to index this site:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ask search engines not to index this site:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Private<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like my site to be visible only to registered users of the OpenLab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like my site to be visible to registered users I add:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I would like my site to be visible only to me:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Select the role default member roles for new members, that will be added to your portfolio site in the future. Here, you can also adjust the default roles of current members of the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Enable \u201cAdd to My Portfolio\u201d adds a button to posts, pages, and comments that you have authored anywhere on the OpenLab. Using this feature allows you to save these directly to your portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Click\u00a0Next Step\u00a0<\/strong>to go to the next step of the portfolio creation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1.
