This is a great option particularly if you are inheriting an existing course because you can see which announcements, assignments, tests, discussion forums, or folders have dates associated with them and whether these are due dates, availability dates, or adaptive release dates.<br \/>\n<em>Note: Date Management will not change any dates that are mentioned in descriptions of assignments, items, or folders; those dates need to be adjusted manually.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why Use Date Management?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Get a quick overview of all dated materials in your course.<\/li>\n<li>Save time when updating your dev site for the next semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Getting Started with Date Management<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2017\/05\/datemanagement.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1275 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2017\/05\/datemanagement-185x300.png?resize=179%2C290&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a>To access the tool in your course site, select <em>Course Tools <\/em>on the<em> Control Panel<\/em>, and then click on <em>Date Management<\/em>. Here, you will have the option to change all the due and availability dates in your course based on either the semester start date, or by a fixed number of days.<\/p>\n<p>Before doing so, you might want to see a list of all the dates in your course for review on one screen. For that, select &#8220;List All Dates for Review&#8221; and click &#8220;Start.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2017\/05\/date_management_list_all_dates.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1287 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2017\/05\/date_management_list_all_dates-300x193.png?resize=296%2C190&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To return to the options on the initial screen, click \u201cRun Date Management Again\u201d in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. You can shift <strong>all <\/strong>the dates in your course based on the semester start date or by a fixed number of days. This might require a little arithmetic, particularly if the new semester begins on a different day of the week than the preceding one: for example, if the fall semester began on a Thursday, but spring classes begin on a Monday.
