{"id":1486,"date":"2018-01-17T16:04:16","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T21:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/?page_id=1486"},"modified":"2018-01-17T16:04:16","modified_gmt":"2018-01-17T21:04:16","slug":"grading-assignments-in-blackboard-with-box-view","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/openlab.sps.cuny.edu\/sps-faculty-community-hub\/grading-assignments-in-blackboard-with-box-view\/","title":{"rendered":"Grading Assignments in Blackboard with Box View"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Blackboard has recently changed its inline grading platform from Crocodoc to <strong>Box View<\/strong>, so if you are already familiar with inline grading in Blackboard, the interface will look a little different.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When grading an uploaded assignment in Blackboard, <em>Box View<\/em> allows you to use inline grading to interact with your students&#8217; work (similar to the \u201cReview\u201d function in Microsoft Word) without having to download the files or to leave Blackboard. You can highlight text and add comments to provide feedback. These mark ups will then be viewable in the grading history for instructors, as well as under <em>My Grades<\/em> for students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: Inline grading will only work if students upload their submissions as files, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF files.
