CUNY SPS faculty participants in this fellowship will examine AI\u2019s impact on pedagogy, assessment, and student engagement. Participants will review current practices and develop a project to integrate or manage AI use in their courses or programs. While some projects may incorporate the use of AI tools in the classroom, other potential projects could modify coursework to account for AI\u2019s impact, create materials around the appropriate uses of AI, educate students about AI, or develop methods for faculty to use AI for teaching, among other possibilities. Participants will also share their project experiences with other faculty and staff to help establish a collaborative learning community for further exploration of AI in education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Registration is Closed for Spring &#8217;26<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Development of a new or revised course module, activity, or assessment; educational or policy materials for programs, or other pedagogical applications of AI.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Piloting of the project in the Summer or Fall 2026 semester.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Knowledge-sharing with program faculty and with the CUNY SPS community in the 2026-27 Academic Year.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Schedule and Participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Exact dates TBD with participants<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Introduction to the cohort and to projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kickoff meetings for participants to determine discussion topics, additional outcomes, and support resources<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Check-in for specific project needs and planning<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Weekly discussions x 3 weeks<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Project check-in<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>April &#8211; May 2026\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Individual work, OFDIT support available<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>May 15, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Project ready for piloting in Summer or Fall semester course or program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reflection<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fall 2026 &#8211; Spring 2027<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Share-out of project to program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Presentation of project to CUNY SPS community<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Successful completion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Participate in meetings and peer discussions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Develop project to be ready for piloting in Summer or Fall 2026 semester\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Complete a project reflection<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Draft a plan to share project experience with program<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Agree to present to the CUNY SPS community in 2026-27 AY\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Participants who complete the above by May 15, 2026 will receive $500 via a stipend (full-time faculty) or NTA appointment (adjunct faculty).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Facilitation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While Office of Faculty Development and Instructional Technology (OFDIT) staff will help organize and facilitate the program, the fellowship is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to research and develop their projects in a collaborative peer environment.
