The Fall semester is in full swing, and we hope your classes are going well! In this month\u2019s edition, we provide information on the Reflective Pedagogy Reading Group, the Teaching Matters virtual teaching workshop series, and the In\/Visibility: Disability Awareness Film Discussion Event.<\/div>\n
We also share a Blackboard tip on the \u201cSearch\u201d tool feature for discussion boards as well as a tip on the \u201cSend Reminder\u201d feature, submitted by Curtis Izen through our Faculty Corner.<\/div>\n

Reflective Pedagogy Reading Group<\/h2>\n

The CUNY SPS Reflective Pedagogy Reading Group continues its fall meetings on Thursday, October 28, 1-2 pm. Dr. Kate Moss will moderate a discussion of Asao B Inoue\u2019s 2019 Chair\u2019s Address to the Conference on College Composition & Communication, \u201cHow Do We Language So People Stop Killing Each Other, or What Do We Do About White Language Supremacy?<\/a>\u201d (College composition and communication 71.2 (2019): 352\u2013369. Teaching Matters Virtual Teaching Workshop<\/h2>\n

The CUNY Innovative Teaching Academy is kicking off a new virtual teaching workshop series for the 2021-22 academic year. In their presentation \u201cAccessibility as Good Pedagogy: Universal Design for Inclusive Learning,\u201d SPS OFDIT\u2019s own Antonia Levy and Michelle Gastulo will facilitate an interactive conversation on how we can make our courses more inclusive and engaging for all learners. In\/Visibility: Disability Awareness Film Discussion Event<\/h2>\n

The committee on Institutional Equity and Diversity & Office of Student Disability Services Presents a film discussion event on \u201cDeaf in the Military\u201d and \u201cThe Power of 504.\u201d These videos are available on Youtube and it is recommended that both videos are watched prior to the event. The facilitated group discussion will be held over Zoom. The program will be presented twice:<\/div>\n
