Recently VoiceThread introduced a few new ways for participants to interact with VoiceThread slides: direct replies, threaded replies, and private replies.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2015\/11\/comments-in-VT.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-850 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2015\/11\/comments-in-VT-300x127.png?resize=255%2C108&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"comments in VT\" width=\"255\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Direct replies<\/strong> allow you to click on a comment and have your reply appear directly below that comment, instead of putting your response at the very bottom of the comments bar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Threaded replies<\/strong> are like direct replies, but they start a thread from the original comment and they are visually distinct so you can see who is participating in a particular thread of comments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Private replies<\/strong> are recommended for individual feedback or for private \u201csidebar\u201d conversations between VoiceThread participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/voicethread.wistia.com\/medias\/s5j3twd6vn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this VoiceThread video<\/a> for a short overview of these new reply options.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what a thread of replies looks like:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2015\/11\/VoiceThread-threaded-replies.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-852 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/spsfaculty.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/files\/2015\/11\/VoiceThread-threaded-replies-300x284.png?resize=184%2C174&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"VoiceThread threaded replies\" width=\"184\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a>Allowing threaded replies is not a default setting in VoiceThread. Here\u2019s how to enable them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On your VoiceThread Home screen, hover over the VoiceThread in which you want to enable threaded commenting, and select Edit in the lower left corner.<\/li>\n<li>On the next screen, click on the blue pencil on top to edit the VoiceThread settings.
