Adding YouTube\/Vimeo Videos to Brightspace<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Below are three methods for adding external videos, like YouTube or Vimeo, to Brightspace. Each method has slightly different results. Click on a method to expand the content:<\/p>\n\n\n

Method 1: Use Upload \/ Create - Video or Audio<\/h2>
\n\n\n\n

This is the quickest way to add video from sites like YouTube or Vimeo. However, this method only displays the video, additional content items (text headings, attachments, etc.) will not accompany the video when using this method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a content module, click the Upload\/Create <\/strong>button and select Video or Audio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paste the YouTube URL (or embed code). You will see a preview of the video appear. Click Save<\/strong> to add the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method 2: Embed YouTube\/Vimeo with Code using Create a File<\/h2>
\n\n\n\n

Embedding a YouTube, Vimeo, or external video with the Create a File feature allows you to accompany the video with additional text and attachments within the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a content module, click the Upload\/Create button and select Create a File.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the Insert Stuff<\/strong> icon on the content editor, followed by the Enter Embed Code<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Copy the embed code from the video\u2019s hosting site (ex. YouTube\/Vimeo).
Paste the video\u2019s embed code and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll see a screen with a preview window of the video; click Insert<\/strong> again. When ready, be sure to click Save and Close<\/strong> to finish adding the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Method 3: Embed YouTube Videos with the YouTube Search Feature<\/h2>
\n\n\n\n

You can search for and add a YouTube video on Brightspace. Please note, if you have the direct URL to the video it’s better to use Method 1 or 2 above. This method is meant to search for videos on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a content module, click the Upload\/Create<\/strong> button and select Create a File.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the keywords for your desired YouTube video in the Search YouTube<\/strong> bar and select Search<\/strong>. Once you have found the desired video from the results, select the video and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will see a preview of the video. Click Insert<\/strong> to add it. When ready, be sure to click Save and Close<\/strong> to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
