This guide provides step-by-step instructions for sending emails using the Classlist tool within a Brightspace course. Whether you’re looking to email all learners in your course or contact individual students, this guide will walk you through the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Email All Learners in a Course<\/summary>\n

  1. Select Tools<\/strong> from the navigation bar on the course page and click Classlist<\/strong> from the dropdown.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. On the Classlist page, select the Email Classlist<\/strong> button. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. All learners will be listed on the Email Classlist page. Select Send Email<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. A pop-up will appear to compose your email. Press Send<\/strong> when complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Note:<\/span> All learners will appear in the Bcc<\/strong> field of the email. Learners will not see any other learner\u2019s names or email addresses. The To<\/strong> field will appear blank, which is perfectly fine. It is not necessary to enter an address in the To<\/strong> field. Instructors will still receive a copy of the email automatically in their Brightspace-associated email, as they are included as members of the Classlist. If instructors wish to send a copy of the email to a personal email address (such as Gmail), they can manually enter that address in the To<\/strong> or Bcc<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

          Email an Individual Student<\/summary>\n

          1. On the Classlist<\/strong> page, click the chevron icon next to the student\u2019s name and select Send<\/strong> Email <\/strong>from the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. A pop-up will appear to compose an email message. Select Send<\/strong> to complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              1. Select the box to the left of their name and select the Email<\/strong> icon at the top of the table.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                      1. On the next page, you\u2019ll see the full history of your sent emails. By clicking on the email subject, you can view the detailed content.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

                        1. From the Email <\/strong>page, click Settings<\/strong> in the top right corner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                          1. On the Email Settings<\/strong> page, you can edit your email signature. Click Save<\/strong> after finishing editing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                            Note:<\/span> If you try to send emails directly from the Email<\/strong> tool, the email addresses will not populate automatically. You must type them manually or send the emails via the Classlist<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n
