Where Voices Become Stories—and Stories Become Legacy.
Welcome to the CUNY School of Professional Studies Literary Arts & Publishing Society (LAPS) — a community created for writers, readers, poets, storytellers, editors, creatives, and anyone who believes words have the power to connect people.
LAPS is more than a writing club. It is a space to create boldly, develop your craft, share your voice, explore publishing, and build community through literature. Whether you have been writing for years, are working on your first poem or short story, or simply love discovering new books and ideas, you belong here.
Throughout the academic year, members can participate in writing workshops, open mics, literary showcases, author and publishing discussions, collaborative events, creative challenges, and opportunities to contribute to LAPS publications and projects.
We believe that every writer begins somewhere, every voice deserves room to grow, and every story has the potential to leave an impact.

Write Boldly. Publish Fearlessly.
