We started a collection of interesting articles and resources in a padlet for CUNY SPS faculty. If you find additional resources or articles worth sharing, please feel free to post them both here (for discussion) and on the padlet (for reference)!

I’ve just posted on the padlet the Faculty Guide to Getting Started with Gen AI. This collaboration between the U of Texas at Austin and Grammarly features 20 AI-based activities and 9 lesson plans.
My honest review: I found the 9 lesson plans not so useful, but the 20 activities do contain some useful prompts for activities like brainstorming research topics and and creating a presentation script, plus questions to evaluate the AI tool output.
You are prompted to sign up and give your email if you want to download the guide, but here is my downloaded copy in dropbox if you just want to take a look!

I recently came across the Teaching with Generative AI Resource Hub by MIT Sloan, which provides practical guidance for educators exploring the use of generative AI in their teaching. The resource offers actionable strategies, such as fostering AI literacy among students, adapting assessment methods to focus on originality and critical thinking, and creating ethical guidelines to promote responsible AI use.
What I found particularly compelling was the focus on encouraging students to view AI as a tool for creativity and innovation rather than just a shortcut for completing assignments. The guide also provides examples of how AI can enhance group projects, support research by analyzing large data sets, and spark discussions in classrooms, making it highly versatile across disciplines.
This resource complements the earlier articles shared, offering fresh perspectives on how educators can responsibly integrate AI into their teaching while maintaining academic integrity. It’s worth exploring for those interested in practical applications of AI in education.
Best wishes,
Norlene Thomas
