Add files, images, and audio in Blackboard (Blackboard)
Scroll down to “Add images in the editor” to learn how to insert an image and add alternative (alt) text describing it in Blackboard. Note: this resource is included only as a technical how-to. The example alt description Blackboard gives here (“Mi brother”) isn’t specific enough to describe an image. “My brother in military fighter plane” would be more descriptive. Be sure and review other resources above to understand how best to tag images.

Images Tutorial (Web Accessibility Initiative)This resource explains why alt tags are important, and what kinds of tags to write for different types of images. If you don’t know HTML, don’t let it scare you off. You can work entirely within the Blackboard editor as shown below. If the example given in HTML looks like alt=”Dog with a bell attached to its collar,” in the Blackboard editor alternative text slot, you would simply write: Dog with a bell attached to its collar.
