Join us for an upcoming UDL Collaborative meeting at CUNY SPS. We are a community of practice exploring Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility, and inclusive teaching strategies. Together, we share ideas, ask questions, and brainstorm practical approaches that support all learners. All faculty and staff are welcome.

Spring 2026 Meetings:

Pedagogy of Kindness
Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 1–2pm ET.
In this session, we’ll explore what kindness means in academic contexts, how it relates to UDL, and how it intersects with our teaching and working practices. We recommend reading the introductory chapter from the book “A Pedagogy of Kindness” (2024) by C.J. Denial; please find a pdf of the chapter posted on our OpenLab webpage.

UDL Sustainability
Monday, April 20, 2026 from 1–2pm ET. Register here.
In this session, we’ll explore how to make accessibility and UDL part of our ongoing professional practices as a sustainable habit. We’ll connect our discussion to the school’s ongoing Accessibility Project and Accessibility Challenge, exploring what’s working well, what next steps might look like, and how UDL principles can support long-term change.
This will be a practical, strategy-sharing session where we’ll learn from colleagues who have successfully integrated UDL and accessibility into their daily work. Bring your ideas, questions, and experiences!

Campus Resource Group

To Join:
Log in to your OpenLab account using your CUNY credentials, navigate to the UDL Collaborative group page, and click “Join” to request membership. Once approved, you’ll have access to shared resources and discussion spaces where members exchange ideas and collaborate on UDL initiatives.

CUNY & Broader Accessibility Initiatives
This community was originally created as part of a broader CUNY-wide initiative focused on advancing accessibility and Universal Design for Learning across campuses.

CUNY Central continues to offer accessibility and UDL-related programming. For more information, please click here.
