What an exciting semester this has been, my first as Editor-in-Chief of The Kiosk. It is amazing how you can show up someplace (in this case a Kiosk information session) and leave with something so unexpected. My role involves more work than I anticipated, but when you do something you enjoy, it gives you a greater level of energy.
I am most excited about my first article, Tortoise or Hare? The Candid Results, because it includes data gleaned from the survey in my first Letter from the Editor: Team Tortoise or Team Hare? Thank you to all the participants who shared so candidly.
I also had the opportunity to review quality articles. There are good topics available for you to peruse at your leisure. But for being editor-in-chief, I likely would not have found them. Just a little #KelleyTip.
For next semester, we are working on workshops that will help contributors use their articles in a more beneficial way, for example a “Business Buzz” section. We will revisit journalism workshops as well. Just a little teaser … more on this in the spring along with other ideas.
With the spring semester in mind, if you have an article idea you would like to submit, feel free to do so in advance. I am available to review submissions. This leads me to the next big news: we have added a submission form to our Submission Guidelines page. You could very well be the first to use it.
Happy end of the semester! Congratulations to those who have completed the requirements to graduate, and I look forward to working with students continuing their studies.
Be well,
