This guide will walk you through the steps to efficiently enter grades for missing student work using Spreadsheet View in Brightspace. Assigning zeros for incomplete assignments can be done quickly, ensuring your grade book is accurate and up to date. Alternatively, you can choose to exempt the missing work instead of grading it as zero.

Steps to Fill In Grades for Missing Work:

  1. In your course, go to Grades in the navigation bar.
  2. On the Enter Grades tab, click Switch to Spreadsheet View.

Note: If you see “Switch to Standard View,” you are already in Spreadsheet View.

  1. Locate the column for the assignment in the grade table. Type “0” into each blank cell in the column to assign a grade of zero for missing work.
  2. Once you have filled in the zeros, click Save to update the gradebook.
