For us students at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, this moment at commencement is a powerful milestone that not only serves as a testament to academic success, but also to the community built along the way. As members of the CUNY SPS National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) Chapter, attending commencement in both CUNY SPS and NSLS regalia represents more than a single moment in time—it reflects growth, perseverance, and shared achievement.
During our time at CUNY SPS, the NSLS Chapter provides an environment where students support one another in achieving their SMART goals. It is a space rooted in accountability, encouragement, and leadership development, where we recognize the power of shared success. This is evident on graduation day, as we celebrate not only the completion of our degrees, but also the leadership growth developed throughout our journey.
CUNY SPS empowers us to lead with intention, integrity, and confidence. Through NSLS programming and events, we strengthen essential leadership skills such as goal setting, communication, service, and self-awareness—preparing us to navigate a variety of professional environments. Wearing our NSLS stoles alongside our CUNY SPS caps is both an honor and a reflection of that preparation.
We help sustain this momentum through our work on the 2025–2026 CUNY SPS NSLS Executive Board. With dedication and purpose, we support member engagement, guide newly accepted students through the induction process, and help create opportunities for meaningful leadership development. Through these efforts, a culture of connection, accountability, and motivation continues to grow—shaping a graduating class prepared to lead in their respective fields.
Graduation is not an ending, but a continuation. It honors every late night, every meeting, every Success Networking Teams (SNT) session, and every moment that leads to this achievement. Members of both CUNY SPS and NSLS communities, we move forward ready to apply the lessons learned—not only in the classroom, but in life.
In this way, the pursuit of our degrees continues the CUNY SPS tradition—one built on leadership, service, and excellence. Congratulations to the CUNY SPS NSLS graduates. Today, we celebrate not only our accomplishments, but the leaders we continue to become.
