Signing Up for Adobe Creative Cloud

CUNY is providing all faculty members with an active appointment access to Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Creative Cloud allows you to download Adobe applications such as Acrobat Pro, PhotoShop, Lightroom, etc.

At the beginning of each academic year, the Office of Information Technology at CUNY SPS will send an email from Adobe Systems Incorporated to all active SPS faculty with an invitation link to access those applications.

Below are instructions for activating your Creative Cloud Enterprise account and downloading Acrobat applications. In order to download the proper version of the Acrobat apps, it’s important that you follow these instructions carefully and do not create an ADOBE ID account with a non-CUNY email address, or activate a free account.

    1. Open the email from Adobe Systems Incorporated and click the “Accept Invitation” link.
    2. In the pop-up box, sign up to create an Adobe ID account using your CUNY email address.
    3. A “Congratulations!” window will pop up. Click on “Launch Adobe.com.”
    4. You will be taken to the Home Screen. Click on “Download apps.”
    5. You can download any of the Apps you see here. For editing PDF’s, download “Acrobat Pro.”
    6. When you click on an app to download it, you will be asked to install Adobe Creative Cloud. On a PC, you will be taken to a page with instructions on how to install Creative Cloud. On a Mac, a pop up window will appear with instructions to click on the Creative Cloud Installer.
    7. Once Adobe Creative Cloud is downloaded, you can view downloading and installed apps by clicking on the Creative Cloud icon. On a PC, this icon appears on your desktop, as shown on the left below. On a Mac, the icon is located in the upper-right hand corner of your computer screen, as shown on the right. Click on “Apps” in the menu in order to view downloading and installed apps.

Nota Bene

  • If you already have a personal subscription of the Adobe Creative Cloud, please do not install the software on the same computer as it will be cause a licensing issue in the future.
  • You must have administrative rights on the machine where you intend to download and install the Adobe software.
  • We do not recommend that you download all of the Adobe software. It will take up necessary computer disk space and will affect the performance of your computer.
  • Cloud storage is not available.
  • Access to the system will be deactivated at the end of your faculty appointment.
  • Saved work will not be affected by deactivation of the license. You will need access to activated software to continue to work with your files.

If you are experiencing an access issue please contact the CUNY SPS Help Desk at helpdesk@sps.cuny.edu or Tel: 646.664.8592.
